Cheese Towers are fantastic for all types of celebrations and weddings, being both visually interesting and delicious. We provide tiered stacks of cheese for events hosting 30 to 180 people, with a wide range of cheeses available including blue, cheddar, continental, smoked and soft. All of the cheeses on offer are made at our Dairy in Sussex and here are some examples of finished examples,
At High Weald we make a wide range of cow, sheep and goat milk cheeses that range is sizes, textures, flavours and colours and we can supply you with a complete cake for your guests to enjoy. If you wish, the cake can be made solely from organic milk cheeses and can consist of any of our cheeses to make your dream cake!
Most towers comprise of a base layer featuring four different cheeses as quarters, followed by layers of either half or whole wheels of cheese. The four quarters can include more unusual cheeses, such as Chilli Marble, Seven Sisters and Truffle Ewe, which bring additional flavours and interest to the tower.
We find our soft cheeses, called Slipcote and Little Sussex, are brilliant toppers, adding a final attractive tier. These work very well alongside our other harder cheeses as part of a cheeseboard and can also be dotted around the base of the tower or between the tiers, along with any decorations you may have. Likewise, we can provide sterile Slipcote pots which can be placed between the tiers to add height to the tower.
You are more than welcome to visit the Dairy where we will show you our cheeses maturing, go through our range and put together a tower with you. You can take away cheeses to try before deciding on your final tower and we will provide you with taster cards so your guests can read about the cheeses they are enjoying.
If you would like to visit to discuss your tower then please call or email and we can book you in for a weekday visit.
Cheese can be dispatched to anywhere in the UK, can be delivered locally or you are welcome to collect. The cheese would need to be stored in a cold environment below 7 degrees and we recommend airing the cheese for two hours prior to cutting it up and serving. If your caterer wishes to purchase the cheese from us directly, or via a wholesaler, then please ask them to get in touch with us.
As a guide, the average price per person for a cheese tower, regardless of size, is £3.50 per person.
