    Hand selected by our cheesemakers to showcase some of our finest award winning cheeses. The Cheesemakers Selection includes our multi award winning Brighton Blue, Saint Giles, Seven Sisters, Sister Sarah, Sussex Marble and Smoked Ashdown Foresters. Also included in the Cheesemakers Selection are Sweet Sussex Cheese Biscuits and Barties Spiced Pineapple Chutney.

    We have created a selection of or light gentle cheeses that Mum will love. Together with our local chutney handmade by Sussex Faire of Ardingly and our favourite sweet crackers from Horsham Gingerbread.

    Seven Sisters Cheese & Terrible Shepherd Cider
    A shepherd strength mix of Dabinet and Michelin from Quarry Farm at Battle, with Cox, Spartan and Bramley from Little Shepherds, along with all number of varieties from Terrible Down. Picked late in the autumn sunshine. We’d almost missed the cider fruit: we got it so late it was pretty soft and pulpy. Yet it’s still gives a rich tannin depth and mouth feel to balance a clean acidity, the whole thing rounded off by an interesting smokiness. Naturally clear, uncarbonated, unpasteurised, wild fermented and slow matured.

    Saint Giles Cheese & 2019 Silvan Bacchus White Wine

    Sister Sarah Cheese & Lychgate Red Wine
    A medium-bodied dry red wine with earthy aromas, hedgerow fruits, and black cherry. The palate shows ripe blackberry and black pepper flavours held together with good tannic structure. The dark black berry fruit character is a perfect foil to the creamy, savoury/sour notes in Goat’s cheese. This brings a balance to both the wine and cheese, for our Head Winemaker this combination is a complete match.

    Truffle Ewe Cheese & Blanc de Blancs
    Our signature wine, only the finest Chardonnay grapes are selected for our Blanc de Blancs. Light golden in colour, with vivid, fine bubbles, this wine has tropical lychee and pineapple aromas on the nose giving way to deliciously youthful flavours of white melon, kiwi fruit and mandarin on the palate creating a vibrant finish. This wine has a balanced acidity which works beautifully as an aperitif with olives and smoked nuts or fish dishes such as fritto misto.

    This spicy pineapple chutney  is great with cheeses and cold meats. Sandwiches come alive with this glowing chutney!

    Barties Sussex Faire, is a family owned business. It was started by John Bartlett in 2008 as a hobby, but it is now a full-time job. Bartie makes the  chutneys  himself  in his  home kitchen using traditional methods. He makes in small batch sizes. The only other workers are  his direct family members.

    He is a producer of award-winning artisan chutneys, jams, marmalades, jellies, mustards, relishes and sauces.

    These  chutneys are lovingly made in small batches. Sourced from seasonally  produced  ingredients from around the local areas of  Sussex and Kent.

    Some fruits, John grows in his own garden and those of  his friends and neighbours. He sources many of his  ingredients from local suppliers wherever possible,  this includes  using local small-firms. He grows  some fruit, or  he sources from a local network of private individuals who have surplus items when in season.

    The range of products is extensive – and varied – something for all tastes.

  • Sussex Thins

    Sussex Thins –  Gluten-Free Biscuits for Cheese. Made with butter, raw cane sugars, and local linseed meal. Made by the Horsham Gingerbread Company they  make a wonderful accompaniment to our cheeses.

    If you would like to add these delicious Sussex Thins biscuits to your hamper or selection box. Just add these to your basket.  And dispatch it to your chosen address. Alternatively you can collect direct from the dairy.

    Founded by Lesley Ward in 2013. The Horsham Gingerbread Bakehouse produces distinctively delicious gingerbreads and gluten-free biscuits. Lovingly  baked in small batches, at a  family bakery  in West Sussex. Created with the finest natural and locally sourced ingredients.

    In the past, bakers would have sourced many ingredients from their local area. Lesley uses linseed meal grown and processed  at Barns Green in West Sussex. It was this fine product, with its delicious nutty flavour, that inspired Lesley to create her range of biscuits.

    There has been a wonderful revival in the making of artisan-made British cheese in recent years.  Therefore, it seemed only fitting to create a distinctive, sweet Sussex biscuit.

    Ingredients for Sussex Thins

    Salted Butter (Milk) (27%),
    Sussex Linseed Meal (16%),
    Gluten-Free Oat Bran,
    Cornflour, Rice Flour,
    Muscovado Sugar (11%),
    Black Treacle,
    Raising agent – gluten-free
    (disodium diphosphate and sodium hydrogen carbonate, rice flour),
    Sea Salt.
