More cheeses than the French
More buffalo cheeses than the Italians
More Blues than the Spanish
Much of the British public and even the media still believe European cheeses are more interesting, more diverse and more likely to be made with raw milk than British cheese but this is far from the truth. In fact in this year’s British Cheese Awards, created in 1994, had 884 entries from 189 cheesemakers, representing about 70% of the industry.
Only 66 of the 884 entries were awarded Gold medals and from these 18 category winners were chosen by a panel of 60 top industry experts including cheese buyers, journalists, chefs and food critics.
High Weald Dairy were pleased to receive 2 Gold Awards and 3 Bronze Awards

Organic Brother Michael; Gold in the New Cheese Class, Semi Soft….our new rind washed rind organic cheese.
